SH 1 won't see SH .9 data

I tried to uninstall and it proceeds, but it says it was incomplete [cannot prepare uninstall]. I've deleted the ProgramFiles (86)>SleepyHead folder then did a reinstall.

It sees the profile name but not the data from the .9 version. I've pointed it to every folder I can but it won't see the data. I uninstalled again (got same error message), deleted the folder again, then downloaded and reinstalled from the new download. It won't see the data.

I even renamed the SleepyHeadData Testing folder, let it create a new folder and profile with the same name, then dropped everything from the old profile into the new. It still won't see it.

I've even rebooted my PC, bless its heart.

1 week in with using CPAP (RESMED Airsense 10 autoset).
I'm trying to install Sleepyhead on my x64 Windows 10 PC.

As soon as the self-extracting install file starts...after roughly 5 seconds, I get a Windows box:
SleepyHead-1.0.0-beta-2-Snapshot-Win32-O......exe has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

This happens whether I hit the Next icon or not. Oh-jeez

I notice it is the 1.0.0-beta-2-Snapshot-Win32 version that is being downloaded to my PC

Help?  ANybody know what Ihave to do to get the installation to work?
Tx  in advance!!

Radical display change on Airsense Autoset 10

Hello-

I recently purchased a new Airsense Autoset to keep in my car (it's actually a "for her" model, but I don't think that matters).  It appears to be brand new in ever respect.  I've been using it for a week now to test it out.  I set all of the settings to the same settings on the Autoset 10 I already use, and the new one has performed flawlessly, with one exception:

When I got up this morning, the display read something reasonable like "Usage hours 8:52" and "Events per hour 2.1".  These are the types of numbers I'd expect to see.  However, an instant after I saw those numbers, they switched to "Usage hours 0:06" and "Events per hour 10.0" (the faces were still green smiley faces as always).  My sleep was great though, so I don't think there was anything wrong with my sleep or the way the machine performed.  Also, I had woken up a couple of times earlier this morning, and the display read reasonable numbers on those occasions.

(1) Does anyone know what this means or what caused it?  I don't know when this machine decides one night's sleep is over and the next begins.  Perhaps something caused it to reset at that very moment that the numbers changed and because I'd taken the mask off things went screwy.  Perhaps those 10.0 events were for a session it was reading that was only 0:06 hours?

(2) If these numbers are for some tiny session the machine is reading, is there a way for me to see data from last night and clear out this tiny session?

Thanks!

This is for men with beards.  I have a beard and can only sleep with a FFM.  (I've tried others and they don't work)  I would like to hear from men with beards who use full face masks which one they use.  Thanks in advance!

AHI consistently 0.0 on ASV, still don't feel any better

I was diagnosed with complex sleep apnea and have been on ASV therapy for the past 5 years. My AHI during this time is consistently 0.0. My subjective sleep quality is no better now than it was before I started. I still feel like I've been hit by a bus most mornings. My now former sleep doc told be that my apnea is treated and if I don't feel any better then maybe I should try antidepressants (the battle cry of clueless docs everywhere). A few months ago I by chance happened to find out about a doc in a nearby city that specializes in treating complex sleep apnea. After meeting with him he suspects that I might be experiencing micro-arousals due to the pressure cycling of the ASV treatment routine. He wants to conduct another sleep study on me that he will personally oversee to try EERS, acetazolimide, and straight CPAP therapy. Anyway, that isn't going to happen for another 2 months so I though I would post here and see if anyone has any suggestions. Attached is a typical night of SH data for me, I added a comment to the time period between 4:15 and 5:15 where there was no pressure cycling and the doctor said was probably the only part of the night where I wan't getting micro-arousals.

Sleepyhead critique please

Finally got some data uploaded for feedback and comments please.
I am on APAP with pressure set range 6-12.

I think I am sleeping OK, but still tend to be somewhat "tired" or at least I feel that way when waking.
Have been on PAP therapy for about a year and a half so I think I have given it a decent time for which to get used to it.  Nasal pillows are comfortable and have no issues wearing the hardware...

I appreciate any constructive criticism.

SleepyHead data and Mask leak questions

$

I was making some real headway these last few weeks from the help of this forum.  Now I'm regressing...I think?

I made several sleep apnea changes and was actually feeling really good during the day.  I just can't seem to get the mask leaks under control lately.

I've made several changes in the setting through advice here.  I use a soft neck collar, purchased a buckwheat pillow (love it) and use a mouth guard.  I don't really want to use the mouth guard but I was getting such good Sleepyhead readings... I have just kept with it.  The last two nights the mask leaks are out of control.  I just don't understand how I get these leaks when I'm not doing anything different?  I've been using a SleepWeaver full face mask.  I can't purchase another replacement mask until the end of April.  I'm highly allergic to the mask seals around my face and bridge of nose.  The SleepWeaver was working pretty good for me until lately?  I guess I'll have to try another full faced mask.  Any full faced mask recommendations for people with very sensitive skin?  The Quattro Mirage is out as it did not work for me due to leaks.  Maybe another mask you could recommend?

This is very discouraging for me.  I put some SleepyHead Data below in hopes of somebody offering some advice.  I think my problem is that just before I fall asleep my jaw loosens and my mouth fills up with a small amount of air thus causing the mask to leak.  I'm half asleep when this happens and just continue sleeping through this but obviously not receiving the full benefit of the cpap therapy.  The soft collar has really helped but my jaw drops very very slightly enough to cause mask leaks.  I know I've been fiddling with the mask all night half asleep but can't keep it sealed.  I've been working at keeping my tongue pushed up to the roof of my mouth but as soon as I fall asleep my mouth fills up with air.  Is it alright to have a small amount of air in your mouth ]and cheeks as you breath mostly through your nose while using the cpap?  This seems to be the common way for me to sleep while breathing with my nose and mouth.  SSHHHEESSSHHH!!!

Thank you for your help.

It's here again -- most parts of the United States will spring forward one hour.  For those wanting to maintain consistent medical records, you may wish to adjust your clocks forward one hour before bedtime.

And, remember, you might be more tired as your body acclimates to this political insult to our intelligence, so take it a little easier.

On Sunday, March 11, 2018, most Americans will set their clocks forward an hour at 2:00 a.m.

I originally started Bi-PAP usage in 03/2011. The Remed machine began to turn off at random times during the night in 11/2017. It would come back on after a few minutes.
The Dr. prescribed a new machine.
I received an Aircurve 10 VPAP-S machine and started to use it 02/28/2018. I am not sure it is the correct machine. The Dr. used the results of the original sleep study which was 30 AHI. They were never able to titrate me during the 3 sleep studies.
I feel better than I did with the old machine after it started to malfunction, but I still have bad mornings. Apneas vary from 3 - 10. In 2011 my setting were 20/16 but it was reduced to 16/12 by the Dr.

Pressure increases for no reason?

Hello all. New to the sleep apnea world. Why is it sometimes my pressure on my mask goes up while I'm asleep, yet I'm having no apneas? Here are some pictures from sleepyhead. You can see my pressure ramps up to 8 as I use a 25 minute ramp, and I fall asleep some where in between, but then it suddenly starts going up even though theres no apnea events detected. Any idea why this machine would just raise the pressure for no reason? At the end there, I finally get woken up by the pressure, or get woken up by something feeling ill. Not sure why my machine decided to go from 8 pressure to 11 for no reason.

I have been waking up with a dry mouth.  I have nasal congestion, so am mostly a mouth breather.  I use a full face mask  Upon checking I found that the metal bottom of te water container is not warm after running all night. Neither is the heated hose or the metal bottom plate in the water container compartment. Is this normal, ordoes it need repair, and by whom.  It has about 199 hours on it.  Would appreciate any help/

Humidifier problem

I've had my Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for about a week.  I have the humidity level at 4. Every morning most of the distilled water is gone from the tank.  I just noticed this morning that the tank is still full. I had a good night,no problems. For some reason I didn't use any water. The tank was locked in tight. Thanks

High deductible ins-New cpap

.png   sleepyhead 1 3-2018.png (Size: 29.23 KB / Downloads: 2) I have high deductible insurance and so I would have to pay for any CPAP equipment that I might need.

Currently I use a Resmed S9 with a pressure setting of 9.  My last/first sleep study was in 2012.  I didn’t feel that I received much guidance or choices and so I am very hesitant to go that route again …especially given the fact the this time around I would pay everything out of pocket.

I was thinking about a new AutoSet CPAP.  Leaning towards a Dreamstation based on the iPhone App.  I occasionally download data now into Sleepyhead on my S9.  I would really like to try and adapt unit to see how this might work.  Currently my S9 gives me an AHI in the 1-3 range.

Advice/Question - I have a prescription to get a sleep study.  If I go that route, I would look for a home study option because of cost.  The other option is to just get an AutoSet unit - maybe craigslist, Amazon, or online.  So far most of the home sleep study sites online send the equipment and do the study but I have not been able to find one that gives you a prescription so I can shop on my own. It appears most will allow you to get a unit from them but don’t give you an actual prescription.  Is anyone aware of a place that will do the home sleep study at reasonable cost and then give you a prescription?

The other option might be easybreathe.com.  They have an option to get get the prescription CPAP package for $99.  This would be the cheapest.  Opinions?

Presumably they give me an auto unit and maybe some broad pressure range setting. I was thinking this might be the best route.  The other options is do their home sleep study which costs $299.

SleepyHead data download not working

Hi,

I have started using Philips Respironics System One CPAP (Model N561S) from 05-March. I installed SleepyHead (v1.0.0-Beta-2) just yesterday.

Tried to download data (05-Mar to 09-Mar) from SD Card and it worked very well. I could see the data, charts etc...excellent! Kudos to the dev team!

Today I tried downloading data from SD Card (for 10-Mar) but it did not work. Tried copying files to the PC and importing, still did not work.

To be sure that there is data for 10-Mar, I checked and found new files were added on 10-Mar. In fact there are five sessions.

Under preferences, the option to prevent download of files older than set date is disabled.

My OS version is Win 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1.

Please advise.

Do you know your RR?

What is your respiratory rate -- do you know it? Whatever brings you to Apnea Board, I'll bet a Guinness to your favorite beverage that your respiratory rate (RR) is a very important (critical, even) factor and it would be prudent to determine it, and to be aware if it changes.

If you don't know, the rate is the number of breaths you take a minute. You can count the number of times you breathe in a minute; in a portion of a minute and multiply appropriately; or in a span of minutes and divide appropriately.

I'm not going to ask your RR, just curious to know if you knew/know it. So here's the poll:

Not getting all data on A10

So after fighting with SleepyHead and my firewall, I finally have SH 1 installed (as well as SH .9). SH 1 is seeing the data from the S9 Autoset and is now reading the card from the new(ish) A10 Autoset.

But I'm not seeing the data I thought I would. Shouldn't there be more?
